Richards plans to keep out of trouble

NZ V8s racer Simon Richards has dual aims in this weekend’s round of the 2008/2009 BNT series at Timaru

He’ll be chasing a top 10 finish and is also looking to stay away from trouble. Last year at Timaru he got caught up in an incident in the reverse grid race and fell to the back of the field.

"We got pushed off last year but hopefully all will go well for us this time around,” says Richards.

“We’re seeing some good speed out of the car this season and although we were hit with a time penalty at the last round at Ruapuna, we know the car is good.

"We’ve done a bit of work on (Ballistic Motorsport Ford Falcon) since Ruapuna and we’ll just aim to be inside the top 10 and get up the standings a bit.

“I’ll be aiming to get on top of our qualifying this weekend which is really important on a tight course like Timaru.”
