Rare Nissans and Datsuns at Nizfest 2010

November 20 and 21 will see Nissans and Datsuns flock to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park and Meremere Dragway for the inaugural Nizfest

Nizfest is a charity based event that will donate all proceeds to Hospice and St Johns Ambulance, the event literally started with a $20 donation to the Nizfest bank account.

Nizfest will see some of NZ's rarest through to some of the most powerful Nissans and Datsuns attending.

The addition of countless hours, phone calls and miles from the organisers, and generous help from sponsors, has grown the event from a simple car club level event to a HUGE display/show/track day never seen before for the Nissan/Datsun brand in NZ.

International motor racing star Steve Millen will be attending and running hot laps in his R35 GTR targa car (650hp) on Saturday, then hitting the drag strip on Sunday. NZ's top drifters will put on a show on the track and skid pad, the Nissan Monster Truck will be crushing cars, and there'll be RC cars, show 'n shine, speedway cars, 4X4 mud trucks, drifting displays, and more.

Robbie Ward from RIPS will be there with his Nissan RB30 front engined rail car, plus "The Borg" Nissan R33 GTR.

The event has drawn entries of cars from as far as the South Island and sponsors from USA and Canda.

Entry to the show n shine event is free and to get on the track will cost $90, spectator entry is a $2 donation to the volunteers supplied by Hospice at the gates on Saturday and $2 to St Johns at Meremere on Sunday.

Spectator entry from 9am - First up Parade lap of classic Datsun's through to current Nissan Models then into track action with 15 Nissan GTR's on the track.

Meanwhile Hamptons skid pad will be in action - where for $10 you get to drive a double figure 8 gymkhana style course, best times win.

Over $15,000 prizes are up for grabs.
