During today's flurry of F1 race activity, Ferrari and Team McLaren Mercedes announced that Kimi Raikkonen will switch camps from the end of 2006.

Kimi Raikkonen and Team McLaren Mercedes have enjoyed a successful relationship for the past five years achieving nine victories, ten pole positions and scored 321 World Championship points. Only two drivers in Formula 1 at the moment enjoy longer relationships with their teams than Kimi and Team McLaren Mercedes.

Ferrari announces that the agreement with the driver Felipe Massa has been extended until the end of the 2008 season, also announcing that it has reached an agreement with the driver Kimi Raikkonen to cover the 2007, 2008 and 2009 racing seasons.

Massa and Raikkonen will form the Scuderia's official line-up as of 2007. Luca Badoer will be the official test driver.

"Whilst I have taken the decision to leave Team McLaren Mercedes, I want to stress that I really enjoyed my time with the team. I have the deepest respect for everybody and will be giving my all in the remaining races," said Raikkonen.
