Wintec multi-trade staff and students will be in the wings to help drivers stay the distance when the world's best rally drivers come to the Waikato in November.
The Wintec automotive tutors and students will be running a support services pit stop at Mystery Creek Events Centre, the service park for Propecia Rally New Zealand, the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship in and around Hamilton and the Waikato from 16-19 November
Propecia Rally New Zealand General Manager, Paul Mallard said he was delighted to have the support and involvement of the Wintec service park team, who will provide key support for any major problems that competitors are unable to solve themselves.
"This team will be able to provide support to all of the teams in our event some of whom are a long way from home. It is great that Wintec have been able to provide this assistance which we hope won't need to be used but know will be greatly appreciated by the teams if required."
According to Wintec automotive tutor Mike Crossan the opportunity could not have come at a better time.
"Wintec is about to launch a new motorsports qualification next year and to develop a centre for excellence for the motorsport industry. Having the opportunity to expose our students to this prestigious international rally with a hands-on multi trade team is just fantastic."
Propecia Rally New Zealand starts on Thursday November 16 and runs until November 19.
