French team adds fourth car to its arsenal as it bids to win 2009 24-hour classic.
Peugeot is bolstering its three-car works team for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June with a fourth diesel-powered 908 HDi FAP sports racer for Pescarolo Sport.
Peugeot says Pescarolo Sport ran Peugeot-engined sports racers during the early part of the decade, and 406 and 407 Silhouette Coupes in the French Super-Touring Car Championship in 2004 and 2005.
“(Former Formula 1 and sports car ace) Henri Pescarolo's professionalism and exceptional experience of Le Mans were further factors which swayed the decision,” says Peugeot Sport director Olivier Quesnel.
"Given that we were materially in a position to provide a fourth, 2008-specification car which complies with the 2009 regulations, our choice quite naturally went to Henri Pescarolo.
"In addition to his unique experience of Le Mans, Henri played a part in the very early stages of the 908 project.”
