Pukekohe expert will fly at BNT NZ V8 series finale.
Expect a fired-up Dean Perkins to put the GT Radials Ford Falcon right among the BNT NZ V8s fastmen in the 2008/2009 series’ finale at Pukekohe on March 14-15.
It’s the hard-charging Perkins’s home track and one of which he is an absolute master. He took the 2008/2009 season off to concentrate on his business, but is doing selected events.
He had a shakedown run at Manfeild last weekend, producing solid performances in weather that ranged from awful to appalling.
Driving with a badly sprained ankle, Perkins qualified 17th, finished race one 11th and came home sixth in race two.
Because he hasn’t been racing for most of the season, series rules forced Perkins to start the reverse grid final race from the back of the field.
He picked up a few places but, more importantly, came home with the car largely damage-free and ready for his hometrack blitz.
