Newsflash: Loeb decimates Gronholm’s lead


September 1, 2007, 11.45am. Citroen’s Sebastien Loeb has turned in sensational pace on this morning’s third special stage of Rally New Zealand to cut Marcus Gronholm’s rally lead from a shade under 15 seconds to just 3.6 as they head for the super special at Mystery Creek.

Loeb hurtled through the stage in 21 minutes 15.7 seconds to Gronholm’s 21m 27.0s in the works Ford to cut the Finn’s lead to ribbons.

Gronholm’s teammate Mikko Hirvonen continues to run third, 50.9s behind Gronholm
