Former world rally champion, Marcus Gronholm, is making a comeback, driving a Prodrive-prepared Subaru Impreza in the Rally of Portugal in April
It’s unclear whether it will be a one-off or whether the Finn, the 2000 and 2002 world champion, will do more events.
He retired from the WRC at the end of 2007 after a season-long battle with Citroen’s Sebastien Loeb.
Gronholm says he won’t start Rally Portugal aiming for victory. “I want to compare my speed with the regular WRC boys after the first few stages,” he told the World Rally website.
"The important thing is to feel confidence and pleasure, coming back to an event that I enjoy very much and know the stages quite well.
"Everybody is looking at me, and maybe I'm stupid, but to have fun and drive again, why not?"
