Subaru is entering the Japanese Super GT series with the 2010 Legacy
The new generation Subaru Legacy will soon make its debut in Japan’s elite Super GT motor racing series.
The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Legacy B4 is being developed as a pure racing car by R&D Sport, in Atsugi city. The Legacy is due to debut in round six of the series, the Suzuka 700 kilometre race.
The engine is supplied by Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru Tecnica International (STI). STI is also responsible for development of the tuning and management systems.
R&aD Sport, with a wealth of motor racing experience, is undertaking the production and assembly of the car. The tyres are supplied by the Yokohama Rubber Co., and motor oil by MOTUL.
The car will be driven by Tetsuya Yamano, a veteran three-times GT300 champion and Shogo Mitsuyama, of R&D Sport.
