NZ V8s rookie Andy Knight has a new car, a new racing number and is running as part of a new combo from this weekend’s Timaru round of the 2008/2009 BNT series
Knight’s Milwaukee Tools Ford Falcon gets a totally new look and a new number, #97, the one he carried throughout his karting career and into open-0wheeler circuit racing. Knight bought the new Falcon from International Motorsport.
Mark Petch Motorsport will run Knight in a two-car team alongside Kayne Scott in the Fujitsu Ford.
"We don't want to dwell on what wasn't working the way we wanted it to," says Knight who has qualified within the top 10 in two of this season’s three rounds but hasn't finished as well as expected.
"Essentially our team remains the same, but we're now pleased to have the assistance of a very experienced V8s campaigner in Mark Petch.
“(We) feel this is a very positive way forward for the Milwaukee Ford team and we're all looking for some improved results."
Knight, the Toyota Racing Series champion, will test the new Ford during official timed practice at Timaru today before contesting qualifying and one race tomorrow and two races on Sunday.
