Kaeding wins at home

Californian Sprint Car racer wins World of Outlaws Saturday night feature event.

February 25, 2007. California racer Tim Kaeding scored a home state World of Outlaws victory at the second night of competition at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Speedway on Saturday.

Kaeding drove the Steve Kinser-owned #11K car to victory in the 40-lap main event to earn a $US10,000 purse.

Kaeding becomes the fifth different winner in as many WoO races since the season began in Florida earlier this month.

Iowa’s Terry McCarl was second but heavily booed by the crowd for an incident which saw him tangle with first night winner Joey Saldana while disputing second spot.

The clash came with nine laps to go and Saldana flipped but was able to restart and finished a lap down in 17th place.

World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz finished third ahead of Justin Henderson, Jason Meyers and Jac Haudenschild.

The Outlaws run next on Friday March 2 at USA Race Park in Tucson, Arizona and the following night at the Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona.
