Jason's auction to benefit cancer charity

In the pink

When a dry cleaning accident turned Jason Richards’ V8 Supercars race suit pink, the team decided to do some good and auction it off to benefit the McGrath Foundation.

Richards’ race suit went through a transformation before the Winton V8 round when Sprint Gas Racing’s dry cleaner made an error, turning the suit pink.

“When our suits came back from the dry cleaners pink we decided to turn a negative into a positive and raise some money for a worthy charity,” Jason Richards said.

“Given the situation that we’ve been put in, no other charity fits the bill better than the McGrath Foundation.

“I know Glenn [McGrath]; he was my captain at a fun game of cricket that we played not that long ago, so it means a lot to raise money for a cause that means so much to him and to so many Australians.

“The cancer sufferers that I’ve met have been so positive about their situation, so this is a chance for us to do something positive about our situation.

“I hope the suit gets snapped up by one of the sport’s passionate fans for a decent dollar and the money helps to find more cancer nurses for those that so desperately need them.”
