British driver bowled over by MBE from the Queen.
Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, says he felt humbled to be made an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
Hamilton (23) became the youngest ever F1 world champion when he clinched the title on the final corner of the final 2008 race, the Brazilian Grand Prix in November.
"It’s a massive honour and incredible privilege to receive an MBE from Her Majesty the Queen," said Hamilton who drives for McLaren-Mercedes.
"It’s the most amazing culmination to what has been quite a year for me and something I’m very appreciative of."
