GT Radial racing back on track

The GT Radial Racing team will make a welcome return to the track at the Manfeild round of the New Zealand V8 Touring Car championship next weekend (February 27 – March 1)

GT Radial Racing chose to participate in limited rounds this season due to responsibilities associated with the current economic crisis.

“We decided to race in North Island rounds only as it was the appropriate way to manage our business and motorsport programme through the present situation,” said Team Boss of GT Radial Racing and General Manager Tyres4U New Zealand, Perry Scarfe.

“It’s been tough going watching from the sidelines and we’re itching to get the GT Race car back in front of our fans.  We think we’ve got a super competitive package straight out of the box as the car is race-ready following our last outing at Pukekohe in November.”

Dean Perkins will drive the distinctive Ford for the three remaining rounds this season.

The Manfeild round is followed by Pukekohe (March 13 – 15) and the Hamilton Street Race, run in conjunction with the New Zealand round of the Aussie V8 Supercars (April 17 – 19).

“It’s important for us to put in a top-class showing as we want to do the many GT Radial Racing fans around the country proud,” said Scarfe.

“There will be free posters available for fans, and Dean will also be available for autographs, so we hope to catch up with as many of them as possible over the next three rounds.”
