Kiwi Scott Dixon won the Kansas Indy 300 this morning
The defending Indy Car champ Dixon returned to form after finishing 16th and 15th in the first two rounds of the championship (in California and Florida).
The win was a boost to the Aucklander's hopes ahead of his defense of the indy 500 crown on May 25 in Indianapolis.
Dixon beat off Brazilians Helio Castroneves (+0.7s) and Tony Kanaan in an error-free race.
Dixon praised the work of his Target Chip Ganassi Racing team.
"We made a few changes to the car and we were trimmed to win today. It definitely worked.
"We had to save fuel. Last year we lost this race by burning too much fuel.
"We'll take it, we've had two rough weekends."
