Asia-Pacific champ out to get hat trick of wins in Australian round of the series.
May 24, 2007, 4.30pm. Defending Rally of Canberra champion Cody Crocker headlines a field of almost 50 Australian and international driver in the 2007 event in and around the forests of the Australian Capital Territory from June 1 to 3.
Crocker will attempt to win the event for the fourth time after winning back-to-back Canberra rallies in 2005 and 2006.
But he’ll have to contend with drivers from as far as Indonesia, Japan and Finland in the event which is Round 3 of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship.
Rally manager Jenny Boyd says the level of interest had exceeded expectations.
“We’re very excited by the calibre of competitors who have entered.
“It’s great to have the continued support of top competitors such as Cody Crocker and local favourite Neal Bates who will be sure to get the support of the Canberra crowds.”
Entrants also competing in Round 3 of the NEC Australian Rally Championship (which the Canberra Rally also is) include husband and wife team Simon and Sue Evans (Toyota Racing Development), Michael Guest (Pirtek Rally Team Ford) and Victorian privateer Will Orders (Subaru).
