Kiwi Porsche ace gets a fulltime drive with Paul Morris' team in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship.
February 21, 2007. New Zealander Fabian Coulthard will race for Australian V8 Supercar driver Paul Morris' Queensland-based Sirromet Wines V8 Holden Commodore in the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship, beginning with the Clipsal 500 on the Adelaide street circuit next month.
Last year, Coulthard drove a limited programme with Morris in Australia where he shared the second Team Sirromet Wines Holden Commodore with fellow Holden Young Lion Alan Gurr.
This year Coulthard ( 24) will race a full season as the team’s second driver.
'This is a fantastic opportunity and one I've been working towards since returning from the UK," says Coulthard. "Working with Paul and the guys last year was good in terms of getting a feel for the Commodore and the V8 Supercar category but it's going to be an all-new ballgame doing every round this year."
Coulthard has been a regular front-runner in the Battery Town Porsche GT3 series in New Zealand.
