Classic Touring Cars and the original Mini will take centre stage at the Classic SpeedFest at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, on February 21-22
The Mini turns 50 this year, and Minis will parade on the circuit at lunchtime on the Sunday.
Southland Sports Car Club publicity officer, Lindsay Beer, says the Leitch Motorsport/Southland Times Classic SpeedFest brings unique racing cars to the south.
“It always features a good balance of wheel-to-wheel racing on the track combined with a relaxed, picnic-like, atmosphere in the pits as the public get the opportunity to inspect the cars close up and talk to the drivers.”
Australian and Canadian drivers will join local classic racers at the event.
