Chinese driver makes NZ debut

Chinese A1GP rookie driver, Adderley Fong, will line up in this weekend’s second round of the 2008/2009 Toyota Racing Series (TRS) at Timaru

Hong Kong-based Fong, who has extensive experience in open wheelers, joins Trevor Sheumack’s European Technique team which also runs top Australians Scott Pye (pictured at Ruapuna) and Nathan Antunes in the TRS. Fong is contesting the international TRS trophy mini-series.

Two British drivers will also contest the three round series-within-a-series for the TRS International Trophy – Ulsterman, William Buller, and Englishman, Will Stevens. All five internationals will contest three races this weekend at Timaru.

Also in the field are Formula Ford series leader, Richie Stanaway, NZ V8s double champion, John McIntyre, and ex-Formula Ford racer Andrew Waite. US-based Kiwi, Mitch Cunningham, leads the Toyota Racing Series after the opening round.
