Burdett wins second Ford race

Burdett wins narrowly from Crocker in second of three Formula Ford races.

February 18, 2007. Michael Burdett took the lead off Kim Crocker on lap three of Sunday morning’s MTA Formula Ford Championship race, and resisted race-long pressure from the veteran driver to post a narrow win.

He crossed the line 0.462 seconds ahead of Crocker, with Saturday’s race winner Daniel Jilesen a distant third.

Hugh Gardiner held second place early on lap one, but had been shuffled back to fourth by lap’s end.

Andrew Waite passed him on lap four and held third place till the end, with Gardiner finishing fifth.

Waite and Jilesen swapped fourth place a couple of times before Jilesen got ahead on the final lap to secure the placing.
