Burdett takes two from two

Formula Ford speedster Michael Burdett continued his late season charge with another win at Teretonga Park, near Invercargill.

March 11, 2007, 10.15am. Michael Burdett scored his second runaway win of the weekend in this morning’s MTA Formula Ford race.

The Aucklander, starting from row two of the grid, was quickly through into the lead, and began to scamper away, eventually winning by a large margin.

Caine Lobb had run second for much of the distance, harried by Kurt Peterson with Daniel Jilesen shadowing.

Two laps from the finish, Jilesen swept into second place and held off a determined attack by Lobb to take the placing.

Series leader Sam MacNeill ran third initially, but slipped back through the pack to finish seventh.

The Formula Fords have another race this afternoon.
