Brighter prospects in Perth

Falcon fastman Jason Bright is used to winning at Perth and goes into this weekend’s V8 Supercar round confident of a good showing.

March 22, 2007, 12.30pm. Ford Falcon driver Jason Bright heads into this weekend’s second round of the Australian V8 Supercar series confident that he can qualify well and improve on his 11th overall round finish at Adelaide.

"Adelaide was a very positive start for us (and this weekend in Perth) I feel that we can be more competitive," he said today. "(At Adelaide) we had a Falcon that set the third-fastest lap time in the Saturday race, so the pace is there.

"Perth's three-race format should suit us better (and) having won there twice, I clearly like the track, but that alone doesn't bring success.

"The big story in Perth is always grip. This is important in qualifying but when it comes to the races you need to maintain tyre life and we feel this is an area of strength for us."
