Automotive parts supplier BNT will sponsor the NZ V8s motor racing series for the next two years.
Kerry Cooper, the general manager of series promoter, The MotorSport Company, says he’s “absolutely delighted that BNT has joined us as the naming rights’ sponsor.
“It’s an excellent fit, with a major automotive parts supplier like BNT alongside the country’s leading racing series.”
BNT also has a further one year right of renewal to sponsor the series.
“We’re very excited about the deal,” says BNT general manager, Greg Horne. “It’s a very good opportunity to promote our brand and we’ll utilise various promotional and hospitality opportunities afforded by having a nationwide branch network, particularly for those branches closest to the seven circuits on which the BNT V8s race this season.”
He says the V8 series has “such a talent-packed field. Any one of several drivers could win the seven round championship and it’s that kind of excitement and race action that appeals to the fans and to BNT”.
The BNT V8s Championship begins at the Taupo Motorsport Park on October 4-5, then continues with its three-races-per-round format at Pukekohe in early November, Powerbuilt Tools International Raceway (Christchurch) in late November, Timaru then Teretonga in the middle of January.
The Manfeild round is in late February and the series finishes with the season finale at the brand-new Hampton Downs circuit in the northern Waikato in March.
A non-championship trophy event at the Hamilton 400 in April completes the season’s racing.
