He then finished sixth in the 22-lap reverse grid finale yesterday after starting near the rear of the grid.
Second overall was Nelson's John McIntyre, also driving a Ford Falcon, who scored a win and a ninth placing followed by a second placing in the reverse grid race.
Aucklander Andy Booth, in a Holden Commodore, claimed the final spot on the podium with second and third placings and 10th place in the finale.
Bell said: "It hasn't quite sunk in yet especially with the next round being at my home track in Canterbury (on November 28-29).
"The team has been fantastic in sticking with me and allowing me to concentrate on the races together with handing me a really competitive car."
