Untitled Document Young Northland driver Carl Adnitt has just confirmed that he will start the 5th round of the New Zealand Rally Championship in Wairarapa this weekend.

Team Manager Reece Jones was overseas in Malaysia for Round 5 of the APRC Championship last weekend and was only informed yesterday upon arrival back in New Zealand that Carl was injured in a motorcycle accident.

"I have spoken with Carl and he is pretty battered and bruised, the worst thing is the seperation of his collar bone from his left shoulder. We are concerned that changing gears will cause him discomfort however he has been undergoing phsio treatment , strapping of his shoulder is helping and he is prepared to give it his best shot "

Adnitt's introduction to his first season of the New Zealand Rally Championship has been a roller coaster ride. A roll over in the first round in Otago, encouraging results in Rotorua, off road excursions in Northland and a steady run in Hawkes Bay has seen the team aim for a top performance in Wairarapa. With with all of these highs and lows however, Adnitt is still running a close second to Patrick Malley for the Junior Drivers Championship and has an outside chance of the Rookie Championship.

The two day event that is based in Masterton covers 541km hand has 211 kms of high speed special stages.
