Volvo talks rubbish about hybrids
Volvo has won funding to develop prototype hybrid garbage trucks (pictured) for trial in Stockholm and Gothenburg. They’re aiming not only to help save the climate, but 35 per cent in fuel.
The trucks are scheduled to go into service early next year, for three years. The aim is to prove that hybrid drive is the most suitable for vehicles that have to make many starts and stops, and to develop the technology to make their production a reality.
