Holden has started selling the all-new Astra TwinTop retractable hardtop convertible in New Zealand.
Its three-part roof system changes the car from a coupe to a convertible in 30 seconds.
The Astra TwinTop is powered by a 2.2-litre direct injection four-cylinder ECOTEC engine which produces 110kW of maximum power and 215Nm of peak torque.
The engine is the first Astra motor to offer variable high-pressure direct fuel injection, enhancing its efficiency compared with multi-point fuel injection systems.
The Astra TwinTop's safety package includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP), driver, passenger and side airbags.
Holden's general marketing manager Matthew Woodley, said the addition of the TwinTop is a direct response to the growth in the premium small car segment.
The retractable hardtop system allows the roof to fold tightly, ensuring the rear of the car remains space efficient and retrains the coupe's visual proportions.
The TwinTop can seat up to four people, and 205 litres of luggage space when the roof is open and 440 litres when closed.
Standard equipment includes a retractable hardtop roof with remote control; Sports Chassis Pack; 17-inch alloy wheels (16-inch steel spare); leather-faced heated seats; and a six-disc in-dash CD changer.
It sells for $49,990.
