GM won’t ‘give up’ to Toyota

May 4, 2007, 9am Toyota has passed General Motors in quarterly sales, selling 2.348 million vehicles worldwide January to March, ahead of the 2.26 million GM vehicles.

Analysts are saying it's only a matter of time before Toyota also beats GM in annual sales.

GM boss Rick Wagoner (pictured) has told senior executives the company hasn't given up the fight but noted it was "staying focused on further reducing our still huge health care cost disadvantage versus Toyota and other non US-based manufacturers."
