China takes another step

March 16, 2007, 6.30am. The 700,000 visitors to the Geneva motor show, on until March 18, will see the important first appearance of one of China's emerging car manufacturers, Brilliance.

Some observers believe it’s another sign of Asia's rise to dominance of the automobile manufacturing industry.

The Brilliance BS6 (pictured) is the first Chinese car to go on sale in Europe, where it has received mostly unflattering reviews, despite the company’s association with BMW.
