A new Texas-based company, EEStor Inc, is working on a ceramic electrical energy storage unit that will deliver a range of 800km on $US9 worth of power. It contains no hazardous materials and can be fully charged in five minutes. The company’s first product will be inside a car (pictured) later this year for a Canadian company. Different versions of the device are said to have widespread possible applications, including personal computers.
