British company expects big savings with hybrids

March 2, 2007. A British firm reckons it will save up to 30 percent on running costs by switching its entire 45-car fleet to hybrids – in this case the Toyota Prius.

Premiere Products had managed a user-chooser fleet of up to 15 models from eight manufacturers

The hybrids are being supplied on full-maintenance contract hire over three years/130,000km and were acquired primarily as a cost saving exercise, although “the environmental benefits are apparent,” a spokesman said.
