Blazing performance from BioPower concept

February 20, 2007. Staying with this week’s clean green theme, Saab will next month unveil the quick BioPower 100 Concept.

It showcases the first production-based engine to be optimised for pure bioethanol fuel (E100) and Saab claims the result is a level of performance “never seen before from a road car using this fuel.”

The 2.0-litre turbo engine from the 9-5 develops 224kW of power and 400Nm of torque, giving it the characteristics of a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre engine.
