March 29, 2007, 3.15pm. Land Rover’s upgraded Defender will be here in August, with a new 2.4-litre common rail diesel engine, a six-speed manual gearbox, a fully integrated facia, new seating and high output heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The long wheelbase 110 will be available initially as a five-seater with a seven-seater likely later.
The Defender 90 (pictured) will come with either two or four seats.
It’s the most significant Defender upgrade ever, although well short of a new model.
Land Rover says the Defender remains a significant part of its business and 25,000 are sold worldwide each year.
