Classic cars, including a very rare Allard J2 V8-powered sports car, will go under the hammer next February in the first international classic car auction to be held in New Zealand.
The February 8 auction is sponsored by Swann Insurance and ManheimFowles. It will coincide with the 35th InterMarque Concours D’ Elegance New Zealand Classic Car Show at Ellerslie Racecourse.
It’s intended that the auction, for vehicles from the 1930s through to the 1990s, will become an annual affair.
The auction will be simulcast online throughout Australia, America and Europe at www.manheimfowles.co.nz.
There is already a great line-up of classic marques listed for this auction, including the Allard, a 1971 Porsche ST/GT and a 1964 Austin Healey Mark III. The auction list is on www.manheimfowles.co.nz and is updated daily.
People who want to participate in this inaugural event can register their classic car, motorcycle or automotive memorabilia for the auction before January 28, 2008. Email email@example.com. All fees and commissions collected from the auction will be donated to Starship Children’s Hospital.
